Abstract (EN)
The aim of this thesis is to analyze the performance practices encountered in Azerbaijani folk music ensembles and to use these practices in the process of composing an original work. In the study, recordings of six ensembles were listened to and their timbral and performance characteristics were analyzed. In order to check the reliability and validity of the data, one of the pieces was re-recorded with an ensemble consisting of four instruments. This recording was compared with the original recording and an evaluation method was applied. In the Findings and Interpretation section, four note templates containing the basic elements were developed with the data obtained from the collective performance tradition. The aim of these templates is to contribute to the composer in creating original compositional ideas with reference to the heterophonic texture. In the Conclusion section, the data obtained were analyzed and evaluated.
