Azerbaijan-Turkey trade relations and impact of the southern gas corridor

Azerbaijan, one of the states that declared its independence in the disintegration of the Soviet Socialist Republics Union, has determined to establish good relations with neighboring states and develop these relations as a priority area of foreign policy. Azerbaijan tries to maintain these relations with Turkey, which has historical and cultural ties. In this study, in the period starting from the beginning of XX century until today, data on the relations between Azerbaijan and Turkey, especially the Mutual Investment, mutual trade volume, sectoral trade and commercial cooperation realized, and the level of mutual investment and commercial relations between the two countries are emphasized. The South Gas Corridor, which is one of the most important projects in the region, is then evaluated by comparing the impact of these states on their economic, strategic and political relations. As a result of the assessment, the South Gas Corridor project has a positive impact on both countries economic, strategic and political relations.
