Abstract (EN)
Although Azerbaijan and Turkey have largely enjoyed warm relations, popularly characterized around the motto" two state, one nation", factors such as security and energy have also been at play in shaping relationships between two countries that shared similar culture and history, lived under the same authority, in the same region named Caucasus. Particularly in the case of Nagorno-Karabakh problem, which took place at the expense of Azerbaijan's territorial integrity, two countries' positions sometimes diverge, notwithstanding mostly shared interests with regards the issue. Energy, on the other hand, has come to be such a vital area in which two countries now enjoy strategic partnership. As a big energy consumer Turkey needs Azerbaijan for energy security, whereas the latter needs Turkey as a supply route to deliver its energy resources to West. As a result, cooperation in the energy which is based on common project, influence relations between two countries in various areas, not least the economy.
