Abstract (EN)
Development of global tourism, introduction of new destinations, more convenient and faster transportation vehicles, provided tourists or consumers of touristic products with various and excessive choice possibilities. The Republic of Azerbaijan, after gaining independence in 1991, started to apply strategies for further development of tourism potential, which is rich of geographical features and diversive resources. Now different destinations of Azerbaijan have become popular, preferred by many tourists.the purpose of this paper is to indentify the factors, especially geographical factors influencing to the destination choices of Azerbaijani tourists, to study and analyze these factors affecting their choices. Identification of preferences of tourists regarding their destination choices provides the possibility to satisfy these tourists who have specific needs and expectations, at the same time this identification plays an important role in marketing and development of these destinations while ensuring these destinations to be preferred by much more tourists.
