Abstract (EN)

This thesis which is titled ''Bursa according to Shari'a Court Registry Book No B7 (1591-1592)'' has been prepared based on the Bursa Shari?a Court Registry Book number B7. This thesis consists of two chapters apart from introduction and conclusion. In Introduction, after the history of Bursa, which was established in 300s BC, is explained up to 1000 in Hijri calendar and general information about Court registry books is given, information is given about court registry book number B7 which is the basis of this thesis. The information given in court registry books makes it possible to have information about running the state and social history. Based on this idea, in the first chapter of our study, the physical and administrative structure of Bursa, which served as the capital of Ottoman state for about 80 years, is handled for the time period of 1591-1592, based on the data given in Bursa court registry book number B7. Handling the administrative positions one by one- as much as possible- this chapter handles the religious, social and commercial buildings of this city not only in terms of architecture but also in terms of their functions. In the second chapter, the social structure and economic life of Bursa city is analysed. In this chapter, the clues about the daily life of city people are given by analysing the -especially- social and family life in city, and the economic life of Bursa city is analysed based on the information gained from the analysed court registry book.
