Abstract (EN)

Ibrahim b. Abdullah of Babadağ is one of the translators who translated the famous Iranian writer Sa'di-i Shirazi's Gulistan. He wrote this work, which the translator named Terceme-i Gulistan, at the beginning of the 18th century. Babadaghi Ibrahim Efendi, who chose the method of literal translation as his translation method, translated the entire Gulistan. This study consists of five chapters except the "Introduction". Some information about the translation is given in the introduction. In the first chapter, information about Sa'di-i Shirazi's life, works, art, Gulistan and translations of Gulistan in Turkish literature is given. In the second chapter, the life, works and contributions of Babadaghi Ibrahim b. Abdullah to Turkish prose are analyzed. In the third chapter, information on the copy of Terceme-i Gulistan, the reason for its composition and the translation strategy is given. In the fourth part, after writing the points taken into consideration while creating the text, the transliteration of Terceme-i Gulistan was made into today's Turkish with the light transcription method. The study is concluded with "Index of Proper Names and Places".
