Abstract (EN)

In this study, it is aimed to investigate the detection and characterization of the coal fields in the study area including the Bacaklı (Kozan/Adana) region within the topographic map of Adana M35-C4. The geological data of the study area indicated that the carbonation in the study region was deposited in Upper Devonian Aged units. The mineralization is between the yellowish and gray sandstones and sandy marls at the base, and yellowish calcareous sandstones and coarse conglomerates at the top. Chemical (moisture, use, volatile matter and total sulfur) analyzes were carried out on lignite coal samples taken from the region and the results obtained were evaluated. Coal quality investigation along with proximate and elemental analyses (C,H,N,O) were performed and revealed. It was determined the Upper Thermal Value; 3567 kcal/kg, Lower Thermal Value, 3499 kcal/kg, total sulfur, 4,12%. The contents of C, H and N in the original sample were determined as 59.26%, 3.48% and 0.42% respectively. Elements were analyzed by X-ray Fluorescence Spectrometry (XRF) method, CaO ratio was found to 19.34%. In addition to that X- ray diffraction (XRD) analysis showed mainly pyrite, calcite kaolin, gypsum, quartz and muscovite minerals. The Maceral Composition of Coal was performed on the polished section and mineral associations were revealed. The FTIR spectral range was scanned at a scan range of 4000 to 400 cm -1, and %C change was observed. The coal structure is attached to the aromatic ring. The multiple vertical electrical resistivity method was chosen in the geophysical studies carried out in the field, and the geometry of mineralization was tried to be real and relative resistivity.
