Abstract (EN)
The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of attachment styles and empathy levels on depression in adults. The relational screening model, one of the quantitative analysis methods, was used in the study. The sample of the study consisted of healthy adults aged 18- 64, who were reached through the convenience sampling method. The data collection tools in the study were; Beck Depression Inventory (BDI), Inventory of Experiences in Close Relationships-Relationship Structures (RE-RE), Basic Empathy Scale (CES). In order to test the research hypotheses, normality tests of the scales, Pearson Correlation and multiple regression analyses were used. According to the results obtained in the study, According to the results obtained in the study, it was determined that there was a positive relationship between avoidance and anxiety styles of attachment and cognitive empathy and emotional empathy scores and depression. It was determined that anxious attachment style, avoidant attachment style and cognitive empathy had a significant effect on depression, while emotional empathy had no significant effect.
