In this thesis study, the role of Religious Education Programs and Textbooks in the fight against addiction has been examined. In this regard, it is aimed to reveal how much items related to addiction are included in the relevant programs and books, their contribution to achieving the intended goals, the nature of the messages given, and the adequacy of activities such as activities and exercises in raising awareness about addiction. Document analysis model, one of the qualitative research methods, was preferred in the study. The study carried out consists of three parts. In the first chapter, a general framework for the concept of addiction was created by scanning the relevant literature. It has been emphasized that addiction is a dangerous element for the individual and society, and in this context, the importance of raising awareness about the fight against addiction is emphasized. In the second part, the teaching programs of Religious Culture and Ethics, Life of Our Prophet and Basic Religious Knowledge Courses in the Primary and Secondary Education Curriculum were examined in relation to the issue of addiction. In the third section, the books of the courses in question were scanned in terms of their treatment of the subject of addiction. As a result of the research, it has been determined that the subject of addiction is discussed with a direct and indirect style of expression in Religious Education Curriculums and Textbooks. In this context, the research was completed by including suggestions regarding the study in the results and suggestions section.
