Bayburtlu Ağlar Baba Divanı's contextual index and functional dictionary

The literary reflections of Sufi thought in Anatolia have been one of the most important sources that shaped the spiritual world of the people for centuries. In this context, the contributions of Sufi poets who grew up in Anatolia to oral and written culture are important not only in terms of literary history but also in terms of the continuity of folk culture and religious-mystical traditions. Ağlar Baba, who grew up in the Bayburt region in the 20th century, is a remarkable Sufi poet who should be evaluated within this tradition. This study, which was prepared for Ağlar Baba Divan, was carried out within the scope of the TEBDİZ (Contexted Index and Functional Dictionary System of Turkish Literature) project, conducted by Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Aksoyak, and aims to systematically record the contextual meanings of the words in the said divan. The basis of the study is the critical text titled Ağlar Baba Divanı (Study-Text) published by Prof. Dr. Necdet Tozlu. In this context, the vocabulary in the divan was analyzed in detail and idioms, proverbs, prayer patterns, slang expressions, verses and hadiths, formulaic expressions, polite words used throughout the work were interpreted and classified within the context. In addition, the reduplications, conjunctions, prepositions, exclamations, synonyms and antonyms, objects and clothes related to daily life, prophets, angels, religious figures, animal and plant names, precious stones, Arabic and Persian phrases, mythological heroes, legendary figures, holy book references, astrological elements, letter and word games, religious and mystical terms, curses, city and place names in the divan were evaluated within the scope of this review.
