Dr. Rüya YILMAZ This research was carried out at field conditions of Alata Horticultural Research Institute at Mersin, in between June-November 2001. In this research, the aims were to determine of the the effects of GA3 and CCC on Cynodon dactylon, Paspalum notatum, Pennisetum clandestimm and Stenotaphrum secundatum turf species. GA3 (0 and 50 ppm) was applied of the sowing and planting time. CCC (0, 1000 and 2000 ppm) was applicated after the first mowing. GA3 caused the dark green color in the all species. CCC affected the species by different ways. The applications of CCC on Cynodon dactylon is effective on plant heigth, clipping weigth, sucker and rhizom numbers, and root length and density. There isn't any decreasing of plant heigth, but clipping weight and root density decreased, and root length and sucker number increased. Application of CCC at 1000 ppm level caused incresing rhizom number, whereas at 2000 ppm of CCC decreased the number of rhizom. For Paspalum notatum, rhizom numbers increased by application CCC at 1000 ppm level, but for rhizom numbers ofPennisetun clandestinum decreased. For Stenotaphrum secundatum species, application of 1000 ppm caused loss of turfgrass color and clipping weigth were decreased. Root density increased in the fields that GA3 is not applicated plots, but decreased in the GA3 non-applicated its. GA3 caused lighter colors in this spieces.
