Examination of relations between the attitudes of parents of drug addicts and parent attachments according to different demographic variables

The main purpose of this study is to examine the relations between the attitudes of parents of drug addicts and parent attachments according to different demographic variables.The population of the study comprises drug addicts suspect detained by Adana Police in Adana. The participants of the study comprise a total of 1206 with 1092 male and 45 female who were detained for drug crimes by department of anti smuggling and organized crime in Adana and 64 male and 5 female, who were detained for drug crimes by division of children crime. The population of the study comprises a total of 176 persons, including 157 male and 19 female who were voluntarily attended to the study among drug users using proper sample methods.The medium to collect data has three parts. The first part of the questionnaire involves items about drug addict?s personal information. In the second part of the medium ?Parents Attachment Scale and last part includes the Parents Attitudes Scale developed by Kuzgun and Eldeleklioğlu (2005).The findings from the research indicate that there are no significant differences among drug users in terms of variables including, age, education and parent?s attachment level.According to the result of this study, it was found that common effects of age and parents attitudes weren?t significant over parents attachment levels and common effects of gender and parents attitudes weren?t significant over parents attachment levels and also education and parents attitudes weren?t significant over parents attachment levels.According to the result of this study, some significant differences were observed between attitude of parents of drug addicts and parents attachment level. Also some significant differences were observed between age and parents attachment level.
