Abstract (EN)

This study was carried out in Tepe Neighborhood of Bismil district of Diyarbakır province, using 15 advanced cotton lines belonging to G. hirsutum L. species and BA-1010, May-455, Novelia and Bossa-159 varieties as material and the experiment was carried out according to randomized block design with 4 replications. In the study, cotton seed yield, single boll seed cotton weight, ginning efficiency, 100 seed weight, fiber fineness, fiber length, fiber breaking strength and yarn feasibility index traits were examined; the performances of the relationships between genotypes and traits were examined. It was determined that there were statistically significant differences among the genotypes in terms of all these criteria examined. As a result of the evaluation, it was determined that the best values were obtained from Line-12 for seed cotton yield trait, Line-5, Line-14 for single boll seed cotton weight trait, Line-3, Line-4, Line-9, Line-11, Line-15 for ginning yield trait, Line-5 for 100 seed weight trait, Line-2, Line-10, Line-11, Line-14 for yarn feasibility index, Line-3, Line-13 for fiber fineness trait, Line-7 for fiber length trait, Line-2, Line-3, Line-9, Line-10 and Line-14 genotypes. When all traits are taken into consideration, Line-12, Line-2 and Line-11 genotypes should be selected as candidates for registration and put into production. It is thought that the cultivation of these genotypes will contribute to production.
