Abstract (EN)
Plants, which are an important part of cities in the fight against global warming in cities, play an important role in terms of carbon storage. In this study, it was aimed to determine the carbon storage in the plant mass of taxa determined in Rize Agricultural Botanical Park and in the soil areas at trace falls, and to determine the amount of non-destructive carbon storage. Considering the inventory study conducted in the Agricultural Botanical Park, 30 plant taxa were determined, including 3 of 10 taxa, including 5 broad-leaved, 5 coniferous taxa. The tree with the greatest carbon retention capacity in coniferous taxa is Cedrus deodora (Roxb.) G. Don The taxon that follows is Picea orientalis L. Peterm. In broad-leaved taxa, Olea europaea L and Magnolia grandiflora L. it has been determined that it has the most carbon retention capacity. In soil data taken from projections of plant taxa in the research area; the highest sand value was found in the experimental area with needle plants (No. 2), the highest dust rate was found in the experimental area with leafy species (No. 1) and the highest amount of clay in the mixed species (No. 3). As a result of the study, considering the amounts of above-ground and subsoil carbon storage of cacsons, Cedrus deodora (Roxb.) G. Don, Picea orientalis (L.) Peterm, Magnolia grandiflora L., Olea europaea L. it was observed that the carbon storage amounts of taxa are high, and it was found that organic carbon is at a high level in the soils in the areas where broad-leaved + needle taxa, that is, carbon sequestration capacity is high, are found in the areas where carbon is found together.
