Abstract (EN)
In the thesis, different potassium sources (such as Potassium Nitrate and Potassium Thiosulphate) were used on two peach and nectarine cultivars which are commercially important in our country. Outcome of the study: the highest fruit weight was measured 190,36 g where Potassium Thiosulphate was applied and the lowest fruit weight was measured 149,6 g where no potassium where applied. In terms of Brix (%) value; the highest rate was measured % 9,76 where Potassium Nitrate was applied and the lowest rate of Brix value was measured %9,24 in the control area. Examinations showed that fruit weight/kernel weight rate reached the highest level where Potassium Thiosulphate was used. Fruit flesh firmness was the highest (5,38 kg/cm2) in control fruits. The lowest fruit flesh firmness was obtained from the Potassium Thiosulphate applied fruits as 4,83 kg/cm2. In terms of yield per tree, Potassium Thiosulphate applied trees gave the highest yield as 47,1 kg and the lowest yield (38,5kg) was obtained from the control trees which no potassium was applied. In terms of yield per trunk cross sectional area measurements, Potassium Thiosulphate applied trees gave 0,311 kg/cm2 whereas Potassium Nitrate applied trees gave 0,282 kg/cm2. Control trees gave 0,252 kg/cm2 yield per area. According to the results; Potassium Thiosulphate application accelerated the maturation as well as quickening the harvesting time, Potassium Nitrate application improved maturation in a normal scale. Harvesting time was delayed in control trees.
