Evaluation of the academy of physical education and sports of firat university in terms of total quality management (Firat University example)

The purpose of the study is to identify the satisfaction levels of the students and the staff of the Academy of Physical Education and Sports of Firat University. The population of the study comprises 817 students receiving education at the Academy of Physical Education and Sports of Firat University, and 21 academic staff working here. The sample of the study is composed of 464 students, with selected coincidental method 291 males and 173 females, studying at the departments of the Physical Education and Sports Teaching and the Sports Management and the Coaching of the Firat University, Academy of Physical Education and Sports, and 20 academic staff working here. The sample includes first, second, third and fourth year students studying at three different programs. A student-satisfaction questionnaire made up of 14 sections and 45 questions, and a staff-satisfaction questionnaire consisting of 38 questions have been implemented. When the results are evaluated in general terms, three groups of problem are identified and some solutions are suggested. These are the criteria of physical background, equipment?s, teaching methods and evaluation of success. As a result of the evaluation of the total quality management of Firat University, Physical Education and Sport Collage, it can say that the physical and social acilities as well as lecturer and student centered have to be considered to improve the total quality mamagement.
