In municipal service marketing: Municipality services on an application

The most important institution of public utility in the state, municipality serving to fit out the inhabitants' needs of regional common and whose congressmen are elected by voters is one the service units undertaking the majority of urban services under the control of state. The responsibilities, duty and jurisdiction of municipalities involves in municipal boundaries. The decisions are taken in terms of financial and urgency status in the municipality. The municipality taking charge in the urban provides a great numbers of services varying from education of inhabitants, culture and art to drinking water, sewage and environmental cleanup. The most important characterization differencing the municipalities taking in major charge in the matter of needs of inhabitants from other institutions providing services is their aim without profit making purpose. The most important reason why the municipalities must enhance their standards of their quality is political gain rather than economic one. The municipalities endeavoring to improve the economic, social and cultural prosperity of their region must pay regards to inhabitants' satisfaction while doing so. The aim of this dissertation is to define the quality of services offered by Muş Municipality and the level of satisfaction of users. The questionnaire for this study is applied to 449 voters living in Muş city. The percentage, frequency and t-test analyses are carried out. It was concluded that those who attended the questionnaire disapprove the activities of municipality. It's pointed out that the municipality must make the rectifications and regulations needed.
