Bertrand Russell's criticism of religion

As we enter the modern period, the most important event that has radically affected the history of thought is undoubtedly the transformation of Logical Positivism into a paradigm that prioritizes science and reason and postpones religious belief. At a time when the entire world of thought was influenced by Logical Positivism and moved away from classical thought and its effects, Bertrand Russell established his own system of thought with an original attitude, inspired by Logical Positivism. Bertrand Russell called this philosophical system he founded the Philosophy of Logical Atomism. A philosophy of language like Logical Positivism, the philosophy of Logical Atomism emerged as a claim to eliminate logical problems arising from language by analyzing the language down to its atomic parts. With the philosophy of logical atomism, Russell attempts to build a new language. In this study, we tried to explain Russell's language construction process and touched upon the connection of language with phenomenon and reality. In the following sections of the study, we focused on how Russell established the religion-science relationship and took into account the situation in the religion-science relationship in the historical process. The main subject of our thesis is to reveal Russell's critical perspective on religion and to look at how he criticizes religious concepts that he finds meaningless.
