Abstract (EN)
In this research our target is to find any significant relation between fifth grade students' perceptions of classroom atmosphere and attitudes towards critical thinking are wheather differentiating or not under the terms of sex, general achievement, class size and their families socio-economic levels and student's perception of classroom atmosphere who participated in the survey attitudes towards critical thinking. This study's sampling is carried out from middle school in the central districts of the province of Kayseri randomly selected from 600 studentswith the method of quantitative research designs which one of the screening method. '' Classroom Atmosphere Scale'' advanced by Şendur (1999) , ''Attitude Against Critical Thinking Scale'' and '' Personal Information Form'' advanced by Akar Vural (2005) are used in this research. Descriptive statistics, independent samples t-test, one-way ANOVA and Pearson Product Moment Correlation techniques are used in data analysis. As a result of data it was determined that the fifth grader students who participated in this survey the negative perception of classroom atmosphere. Any significant difference between the sexes on student's perceptions of classroom atmosphere was not determined. Student's attitudes towards critical thinking were determined as moderate. Negative relationship at low levels were determined between perceptions of classroom atmosphere and attitudes towards critical thinking.
