Vocabulary about faith in betashar and joqtav

The belief system, which affects the life, philosophy and social order of a nation, is transferred from generation to generation and becomes cultural values over time. In this study, it is aimed to reveal the place and importance of faith in Kazakh folk culture by examining Betashar and Joqtavs, which are products of Kazakh Folk Culture. Betashar is an example of a jir said when the bride arrives. Akın (the person who sings the betashar) opens the face of the young bride, who comes covered with a white veil; akın, who has a white stick in his hand, removes the brides veil little by little at regular intervals and introduces her to the household. In Betashar, humorous elements are dominant. Generally, betashar begins with the words"Come on, the bride has come, the bride has entered the house".In Betashars, akın opens the face of the new bride and introduces her to new relatives, and gifts are asked for her (Qonqiratbaev, 1991: 51-52). Joqtav is about to lament and talk to the deceased. Joqtav is mostly sung for famous people. The joktav is the jir in which the wife, daughter or daughter-in-law of the dead person utters in a mournful voice and crying, talking about the deeds that the deceased did, and the anxious events that happened to him before his death (Baytursinilu, 2003: 308). In betashar, which is a veil-opening ceremony, the bride and groom, who are at the beginning of a new road, are prayed for the home they will build, while in joqtavs that describe the sadness experienced due to death, prayers are made for the deceased. Examined betashars are taken from the book named "Qazaqtng Betashar Jirs" and Joqtavs are taken from the book called "Qazaqtng Joqtav Jirs". After using the filing method in our research, the transcription, translation and interpretation of the selected texts into Turkish were made. Detailed information is given about the examined betashars and joqtavs. One Joqtav and one Betaşar example are given in full, with their translations into Turkish.
