Abstract (EN)
Located in Eastern Lycia, the Ancient settlement of Firincik location is situated in Antalya Province, Kemer district, Beycik street and lies toward the southeast skirts of the Tahtalı Mountain. The settlement, whose ancient name is unknown, is located in a naturally sheltered, at a high altitude and on a sloped land. Firincik settlement is divided into two part by a valley which make a sharp "S" shape toward the southwest, and these two parts are called East Settlement and West Settlement according to their directions. East settlement represents the center of the settlement with its size and constructions although east side is founded on the more sloped land. These constructions include both the civil architecture design examples and public space such as Agora. Moreover, East part contains constructions such as military, administrative, worship and commercial aims. Yet, West Settlement is built on a less sloped land with the purpose of production; therefore, these historic structures reflects more farmhouse features. Consequently, Firincik ancient settlement is important for its plain urbanism, topography and architectural features which reflect the Helenistic period characteristics.
