Abstract (EN)
IV SUMMARY The recorded representation of the electrical activities that are produced in the brain is called electroencephalography (EEG). EEG, may be useful, especially when investigation of the functional, and the mental activities of the brain are considered. EEG signals include spectral components(5, 0, a, (3 waves) that have four major frequency bandwidths with respect to the functional, and the mental activities of the brain. To analyze the EEG signals using computers, they must be suited digitization, and than recorded. To do this, an interface unit is used between the computer, and the Electroencephalograph The digitized, and recorded EEG signals have been distinguished into their spectral components by using Wavelet transform method which is the one of the modern signal processing technique. Wavelet transform method investigated the signal both in time and the frequency domains. So we can easily see the values of the spectral components of the signal in the time domain. In this study, the obtained spectral components of the EEG signals are applied to the inputs of artificial neural network model, and this model is trained according to these inputs. So, the outputs of the artificial neural network will show the health conditions of the patients. As a result, besides the developing technology, using signal processing techniques effectively brings the improvements that are useful in the illness' diagnosing and the opportunity of the reducing the errors that are made in the diagnosing of the illness with it.
