Özet (EN)

This study was conducted in Beykoz district of Istanbul province in 2019 and 2020. In the study, it was aimed to select the genotypes with the most superior characteristics from chestnuts in the district. In the study, 87 genotypes were evaluated and 10 genotypes were selected as promising. While some phenological and pomological characteristics of the selected genotypes were determined in the study, population densities of some diseases and pests in the genotypes were determined. Fruit characteristics of promising genotypes selected in 2019 were determined as 4,48-11,49 g, fruit width 24,53-31,42 mm, fruit height 12,02-19,83 mm and fruit height 22,93-29,08 mm in the second year. It has also been found that the fruit skin is generally soft, the seed membrane is easily peeled, and the seed coat does not into the seed. In this study, 34 BYZ 81 for "Normal Season", 34 BYZ 01 for "Earlyness" and 34 BYZ 14 for "Chestnut Dough" got the highest scores. In terms of total value score, the 34 BYZ 01 genotype was the first, followed by 34 BYZ81 and 34 BYZ 76respectively. As a result of the study, it is considered important to use them in future breeding studies because the genotypes selected show superior properties in terms of suitability for chestnut dough and do not show contamination against chestnut cancer existing in the region.
