Abstract (EN)
Eşrefoğlu Süleyman Bey Mosque was built by Seyfeddin Süleyman Bey, the founder of Eşrefoğlu Principality, between 1296-1299. This mosque, which was designed without breaking with the traditions of the Seljuk period, has the distinction of being one of the most beautiful and rare examples of wooden pillared flat ceiling mosques in Anatolia. The Eşrefoğlu Principality, which served as a bridge between the Anatolian Seljuk and the Ottoman period, presented a unique work to the history of art in a short period of half a century. The works of this principality, which became a whole with the Anatolian Seljuks in terms of culture and tradition, as well as its historical and geographical relations, are the continuation of the traditional Seljuk art. This mosque is mentioned in almost all sources related to Anatolian Turkish Art. In this study, which examines Eşrefoğlu Süleyman Bey's mihrab in terms of her aunt, it is aimed to explain the application of Turkish tile art in mihrabs.
