Abstract (EN)
This study evaluates the physio-biochemical responses arrising under salt, drought, heat and cold stresses in Demre pepper comprehensively investigates the YABBY gene family found in the Capsicum annuum genome. Measurements indicated that plant growth under all stress conditions; conversely, increases in proline and malondialdehyde (MDA) levels and significant changes in certain antioxidant enzyme activities were observerd. These findings suggest that the Demre genotype activates distinct defense mechanisms depending on the stress type. In genome analyses, nine CaYABBY genes were identified; the motif structures, exon-intron organizations and phylogenetic relationships of these genes were elucidated. Significant motif losses in CaYABBY3, suggest that this gene had steucturally diverged within the family. RT-qPCR analyses demonstrated that CaYABBY6 exhibited a strong response to salt stress. The expression of CaYABBY3, varying according to tissue and stress type, supports functional differentitation within the family. Overall, the obtained results reveal that the YABBY gene family undertakes important regulatory roles in abitotic stress responses as well as in developmental processes.
