Abstract (EN)
It has been seen that the information technologies (IT) which process, save and share the information has been influencing the human life in various ways. Business organizations, one of the basic institutions of social, cultural and economic life, has also been influenced by the changes created by these technological developments. These rapid developments in IT have been forcing the organizational structures and employees, processes and functions within these structures to change. In the scope of the research model developed by this essential idea just stated, the main hypothesis was articulated in the form that "the level of IT use of employees effects the level of their perceptions of organizational culture". The large scale business firms which were in the list of ISO-100 announced in the very beginning of 2013 based on some performance data in 2012 formed the research population of this study. The main hypothesis and the 24 subhypotheses related to this main hypothesis were tested. As a result of this analysis no meaningful relations between the IT use and organizational culture were found. This result supports the results of the previous studies claming that the IT has no direct effects on some organizational factors such as performance, productivity, profit etc. When we consider the approaches stating that cultural changes and developments take place within a historical process and in a very slow manner, it is somewhat unrealistic to hope cultural changes to occur as fast as the rapid changes in IT. Additionally; with very different attributes, functions and target fields of use it can be improper approach to study various information technologies under a single term of IT. It may be much more fruitful to examine the effects of IT on the four main factors constituting organizational culture; in other words, moderator or indirect effects of IT on the organizational culture. Key Words: Information Technologies, Organizational Culture, Organizational Structure.
