Abstract (EN)

This study measures the effect of information technology usage on purchasing behaviors. The Information technologies term, which lets people realize what they know, how they learn and how they become conscious, is pronounced almost every day. Moreover, it evokes computer systems. In today's world, the most important condition of competitiveness is accessing information, the ability to use it at the right time, and speed. Therefore, it is impossible to talk about a sustainable competition without the usage of information technologies. In this study, it has been emphasized what information technologies are, how they develop, what base lines should be considered while making investments, and related to this, literature on the subject has been searched to explain these concepts to the enterprises. In addition to these, the concept of electronic commerce, which is an answer to the consideration for what kind of changes caused by technology in people's purchasing behaviors and what channels should be used more effectively by enterprises to reach their costumers, have been mentioned. In the study, using the Simple Random sampling method, a questionnaire was applied to 508 people and analyzes were made about whether the usage of information technologies and purchasing behavior differed according to demographic variables. The research group consists of individuals who are qualified in information technologies and who can purchase on their own. The research has three hypotheses: H1. The use of information technologies differs according to demographic characteristics. H2. Purchasing behaviors differ according to demographic characteristics. H3. The level of information technologies usage has an impact on purchasing behavior. All analyzes were performed using the SPSS program. As a result of the research, it was concluded that there is no significant difference in H1 Hypothesis according to gender, it differs according to date of birth, marital status, education level, income status, general experience and current job experience. H2 hypothesis was concluded that there was no significant difference according to gender, date of birth, general experience, but differed according to other demographic variables. In the H3 hypothesis, it was observed that the level of information technology use had a significant effect on purchasing behavior.
