Abstract (EN)

Achieving a biological profile from the remains of human skeletons is important for forensic anthropologists and other forensic researchers. Forensic Anthropologists generally use morphological and metric methods for sex determination, which is an important part of identification. Skeletal remains are not always found as a whole and therefore certain bones are also taken into account in sex determination. This study focuses on sexual dimorphism in the pubis part of coxal bone using computed tomography images and metric measurements. In this research computed tomography images of a total of 73 individuals, 26 women and 47 men, were used. These CT images was taken from the archive of The Scientific Surgery Center named after M.A. Topchubashov, located in Baku city of the Republic of Azerbaijan. In the study 4 metric measurements of the pubic bone that are previously identified and used in studies related to this subject were applied.
