Abstract (EN)

This study investigates the effect of cognitive reflection levels on behavioral anomalies of white-collar workers. The research is based on a sample of 342 white-collar employees working in different fields in the private and public sectors in Istanbul. In the study, cognitive reflection levels of white-collar workers are used as independent variables and behavioral misconceptions of employees are used as dependent variables. According to the findings of this study, cognitive reflection levels of white-collar workers have a significant effect on behavioral anomalies. White-collar workers with higher levels of cognitive reflection are able to evaluate themselves more accurately and are less prone to delusions of overconfidence. In addition, white-collar workers with low cognitive reflectivity are more prone to behavioral anomalies such as sunk cost fallacy, base rate fallacy, and exponential growth fallacy. This study also reveals that cognitive reflection levels of white-collar workers are related to management level and gender. All these findings emphasize that it is important to understand the cognitive reflection levels of white-collar workers in order to make more effective decisions in the business world and to avoid misconceptions. In today's business world, white-collar workers play an important role and may have the responsibility of making complex decisions. However, the human mind is prone to fallacies, which can negatively impact job performance. Therefore, comprehending the relationship between the cognitive reflection levels of white-collar workers and behavioral biases is crucial for making more effective decisions in the business world.
