Abstract (EN)
This research was carried out in order to deter -mine the attitude and scientific creativity levels of 3rd and 4th grade students who received STEM education in a primary school and a BİLSEM in İstanbul in the second semester of the 2021-2022 academic year and to measure and evaluate them in terms of various variables has been made. In the causal comparative study using quantitative data, 58 students from normal public schools without a gifted diagnosis and 46 student groups studying at BİLSEMs were studied. Student Recognition Form, Attitude Scale towards STEM, Scientific Creativity Scale were used as data collection tools. SPSS statistical program was used in the analysis. As a result of the study, when the 3rd and 4th grade primary school and BİLSEM students whose attitudes towards STEM were examined were compared, no difference was observed in their attitudes towards science, mathematics and 21st century skills. Only students with a diagnosis of giftedness in the fields of technology and engineering had high attitudes. The variables of gender, having a study room and having a computer/tablet do not affect STEM attitudes of both gifted and non-gifted students. The engineering and technology attitudes of the 3rd grade students who did not study at BİLSEMs were found to be lower than the 4th grade students. As a result of the research, scientific creativity levels of students with a diagnosis of giftedness were found to be higher than students with a diagnosis of giftedness in all dimensions. No significant difference was found in both groups according to the gender variable. While no significant difference could be reached in the class variable in students with a diagnosis of giftedness, the scientific creativity levels of the 4th grade students who did not study at BILSEM were found to be higher than the 3rd grade students. It can be suggested that STEM education should v-be expanded and implemented an all primary schools and creativity development activities should be designed and implemented in all primary schools.
