Abstract (EN)
The aim of thesis is fracture splitting process parameters optimization of heavy duty engine connecting rod which is produced by hot forging. The parameters are notch type (broach and laser scribing), notch depth (0,6 mm, 0,8 mm, 1,0 mm), fracture splitting area change and various heat treatments that are applied on connecting rod before fracture. Parameters are evaluated by microstructure scanning, hardness measurements, tensile tests, SEM fractography of fractured surfaces, charpy impact tests and deformation measurements of big ends after fracture.
