Özet (EN)

The "reason"-oriented world view that emerged with the renaissance led to the adoption of a holistic perspective in the social and cultural field. The integrity of modernism imposes a single reality, a universal moral understanding on the basis of logic. The reflection of modernism in literature becomes visible through new breakthroughs in language and expression. Postmodernism, which started to show itself theoretically in the 1970s, on the other hand, replaces the "big history" predictive, readability-based approach of modernism with the principle of counter-narrative/small-history-oriented writability. Therefore, the unified and closed form becomes a disjointed and open counterform. These features are based on the fragmentation of the classical sense of time, space, mind, language/discourse, subject/self, meaning and narrative integrity. This idea of fragmentation, which is reflected in the text, can manifest itself in various forms. Especially in the texts of western literature, reflections of the idea of fragmentation are often seen. For this reason, first of all, the philosophical background of the concept will be tried to be understood through the examples seen in the western world and a general evaluation will be made on the history of turkish literature. Based on the philosophical attitude underlying the thought in question, a selection will be made among the texts of turkish literature, and evaluations will be made under the titles of time, space, mind, language/discourse, reality, subject/self, meaning and narrative. Will be discussed through the texts. The mental disintegration, which manifests itself with the east-west duality in the texts of the republican period, gradually turned into the fragmentation between self and the other self. The temporal and spatial unity has been broken by the methods of backwards, forwards, metafiction, narrative within narrative, intertextuality in line with the author's intention. The fragmentation of language/discourse shows itself in the way words are ordered, ignoring the rules of spelling, not using punctuation marks, generating new words and destroying the direct relationship between the word and the meaning. The transformation of reality into "hyperreality" by being cut off from its own time and place, or the construction of a new reality with ironic discourse and ambiguities, also causes the breaking of reality in the classical sense. The diversification of narrative elements and forms of course results in the fragmentation of the one-dimensional structure of meaning and its evolution into polysemy. Based on all these considerations, the reflections of the idea of fragmentation in the Turkish novel will be evaluated through a selection from the post-1970 novels.
