A foreign issue, energy security and nuclear energy

One of the most important needs of states and societies around the world is undoubtedly energy. Being able to meet energy demand which is the key word of sustainable development and social prosperity has become one of the most important problems of states since the early 20th century. The uninterrupted, timely, affordable and minimized environmental damage of the energy has created the framework of decision makers' energy security subject. In this context, the main reaction of energy policy has developed in the form of diversification of resource providers and resources. Although the human beings' control of it has been made for the production of weapons by discovering the enormous energy of atom, the benefits in different areas have been quickly understood. Following the nuclear powered marine vessels, with nuclear reactors built on the same basic technology was able to achieve an enormous potential of energy. Despite the risks of nuclear power plants used by developed countries, as one of the clean energy production methods continues to maintain its importance in the energy sector. Nuclear energy will be the answer in the future to contribute to the search for solutions for governments in the context of energy security because of being sustainable and national. In terms of diversification of energy resources, nuclear power plants that can work independently of environmental and natural phenomena in a desired at any amount and moment can be considered as a safer source than renewable energy sources.In terms of diversification of energy sources, nuclear power plants that can operate independently of environmental and natural phenomena in a desired quantity and in a way that can meet the demand at any moment can be evaluated as a safer source than renewable energy sources. The energy that can be considered a new addition to the instruments used by modern states for political purposes has proven to what extent it can be effective with the events of the past century. It is apparent that countries with energy sources use energy as a pressure and sanction mechanism in accordance with their interests and they can design the decisions of other countries in accordance with their interests. On the other hand, it is possible that countries that are able to meet their energy needs by diversifying their sources, especially at their borders, by reducing their external commitment, can eliminate energy-based pressures from other countries. Nuclear energy emerges as the most important and most effective of the measures that can be taken to get rid of all these pressures. Key Words: Energy security, Nuclear energy, foreign policy
