Abstract (EN)

While choosing food, people are affected by many factors such as age, gender, friends, family, food availability and cost. Choosing unhealthy food is characterized by insufficient and unbalanced nutrition, self-starving behavior and revealing negative body image. Choosing healthy food, having a optimal nutrition, having a positive effect on nutrition behaviors such as weight loss. The aim of this study is; to examine and compare the effects of the food selection of a university on the body image of the students. Akdeniz University Manavgat Vocational High School. The frequencies and percentages of the total scores taken from the questionnaires and scales were identified and the effects of nutrient choices on body image were examined. As a result; due to determinated sample students of clinary arts scale of body image were not correlated with body image scoring their average body weight, body mass indeks (BMI) and waist circumference levels were higher than the students of business administration department. In this research, it was observed that students who didn't skip meals had higher body statisfaction than students who skipped meals. It is determinated that status of students shopping list, salt and fat, sugar compustion edaquate and balanced nutrition were found to be highly related with body perception scores.
