Examination of the relationships between adult attachment styles, metacognition and intolerance of uncertainity levels

The aim of this study is the examination of the relationship between adult attachment sytles, metacognition and intolerance of uncertainty levels and their variability of the demografic data. This research was conducted on-line in the last quarter of 2022 with female/male participants aged 18-65 across Turkey in accordance with the relational screening model. "Sociodemographic Information Form", "Experiences in Close Relationships-II", "Metacognition Qeustionaire-30" and "Intolerence of Uncertainity Questionaire" were performed to the participants. The findings obtained from the research were tested by IBM SPSS 24 and LISREL 8.8 packaged softwares. About the statistical evaluation, the results showed normal distribution and parametric tests were used. "Independent Sample T-Test", "One-way Analysis of Variant (ANOVA)", "Pearson Correlation Analysis", "Structural Equation Modeling" and "Bootstrapping Method" were used in the data analysis. According to the analysis, there was a positive and significant relationship between attachment styles, metacognition and intolerance to uncertainty levels. As a result, a positive and significant correlation was obtained between the avoidance and anxiety subscales and intolerance to uncertainty subscales according to the Experiences in Close Relationships-II. There was a significant positive relationship between metacognition subscales and intolerance to uncertainty subscales.
