Abstract (EN)

This study aims to examine how individuals' participation in leisure activities and their quality of life differ based on demographic characteristics, as well as to evaluate the impact of leisure activities on their quality of life and satisfaction levels. The research was conducted using a descriptive method among individuals working in various sectors in Antalya, Turkey. A total of 311 participants were surveyed using three different scales addressing demographic information, participation in leisure activities, and quality of life. The data were analyzed using SPSS 25.0 software, applying frequency, percentage analysis, t-tests, ANOVA, and correlation analysis. The results indicated that participation in leisure activities significantly impacts individuals' quality of life and satisfaction levels. Women, married individuals, and higher-income groups were found to derive greater satisfaction from leisure activities. Among age groups, individuals aged 26-35 had the highest scores in leisure participation and quality of life. The study observed that as educational attainment increased, so did participation in leisure activities and quality of life. Occupational analysis revealed that employed individuals had higher levels of social and psychological satisfaction compared to other groups, and longer weekly working hours were associated with higher satisfaction derived from leisure activities. Correlation analysis demonstrated a significant positive relationship between leisure participation and quality of life (r = 0.65) as well as between leisure participation and leisure satisfaction (r = 0.60). A strong positive relationship (r = 0.68) was also observed between quality of life and leisure satisfaction, highlighting the critical role of leisure activities in individuals' overall well-being. This study reveals that participation in leisure activities significantly enhances quality of life and satisfaction levels. The findings support the notion that leisure activities positively influence individuals' physical, psychological, and social well-being. Policies promoting leisure activities and increasing accessibility to these activities are recommended as effective strategies to improve quality of life. Key Words: Leisure Activities, Quality of Life, Satisfaction Level
