The contribution of the individuals's lesisure time activities to home economy

This study aims? to determine whether the individuals contribute the home economy while exercising leisure time activities and to propose on the subject. The sample of this research consists of 286 individuals of 18 years old and over living in Kalecik District in Ankara. Within the scope of the research,? the individuals were surveyed , according to the survey results, the demographical information of individuals ,the leisure time activity findings were presented as percentagefrequency. The connection between the ages, genders, incomes of people and the leisure time activities, benefits for persons, reasons for choices, reasons for not participating in leisure time activities were determined by x² analysis, the connection between the educational statuses were controlled by variance analysis. Cronbach ? analysis was done for the reliability of the survey form and in conclusion, the survey was 77.36% reliable. The significance level was accepted as 0.5. As a result? 1. The 61.2 % of the participants of are under the age 40, 38.8% are 40 years old, 61.5% are men, 38.5 % are women, 94.8% are married, 6.2% are single, 12.2% are literate and illiterate, 33.9% are graduates of primary school, 25.5% are graduates of secondary school, 28.4% are high school and university, 17.1% are selfemployed, 17.5% are worker, 26.9 are civil servant, 4.6% are retired, 33.9% don?t work, 88.1% earn less than minimum wage, 11.9% earn minimum wage and more than the minimum wage. 2. 53.1% of the participants said that the leisure time they had was inadequate and most of them said there were no facilities for leisure time and 65.4% said they had got only a budget of less than 50 New Turkish Liras for leisure time activities. 3. Most of the individual do not participate in an activity for the contribution of home economy but they attend courses and they want to go to some courses and sell the products produced during the course.
