To examine the social structure of accumulation in Turkey (1945-2005) in view of the social structure of accumulation approach

In this study, capital accumulation in Turkey between 1945-2005 was analyzed by social structures of accumulation theory. Firstly, it is stated that the social structures of accumulation were built between 1945 and 1960/63. In this context, four social structures were described as the environmental of capital accumulation. These structures are `capital-state?, `labor and capital?, `social and political stability? and `international environment?. Until mids of 1970?s to sustain a stable capital accumulation was only possible by and with these structures. Capital accumulation crisis in Turkey late 1970?s, is explained with the collapse of these social structures of accumulation.Period of capital accumulation in crisis, also indicates an era during which the structures of a new phase of accumulation began to emerge. Therefore, the post 1980 social structures surrounding the capital accumulation in Turkey were build between 1978-1983. `Capital and state: capital domination?, `pressure on working class?, `order and stability: authoritarian political system? and `integration to world economy: stability and adjustment? were determined as the social structures of accumulation in Turkey between 1980-2001. The stable sustenance of the capital accumulation until the first half of the 1990s arises from these structures. The erosion of these structures beginning from the mid 1990s and their collapse at the end of the period contstitutes the reason of the crisis.
