Abstract (EN)
This research aims to determine the opinions of the teachers working in the multigrade classes on the problems they face in practice.. The phenomenological design of the qualitative research patterns is used in the research.. In the year 2016-2017, 11 cadre teachers from 14 multigrade classes in Gümüşhane province centers and counties, and 6 teachers who closed their schools in the last year due to the lack of students in the Kelkit district of Gümüşhane province, were included in the study. A semi-structured interview form developed by the researcher and consisted of 8 questions was used in order to determine the problems faced by the teachers of the multigrade classes. Descriptive analysis approach was used to analyze the data obtained from the interview form. Based on the views of the teachers of the multigrade class on the educational program, it was found that the teachers were not able to raise their gains by the end of the academic year. According to the views of the teacher, the results of the education program applied to the multigrade classes were found to be difficult to implement, it was difficult to reach the student level, it was far from the daily life and interest of the students living in the village. Teachers; they stated that classroom management was difficult in the multigrade classes, that the duration of the course was insufficient, that the courses were interrupted due to official and document work, that the courses were often divided, and that the student had a problem of distraction. Teachers stating that there are problems with infrastructure and technological hardware in schools have said that they do not have enough support from authorized persons and institutions. Teachers who stated that administration and teaching duties were the problem at the same time, said that this caused the teacher to increase his / her work burden and responsibility. Based on the opinions of teachers, the results of the parents were obtained that they were indifferent and insensitive, that school-family associations were away from school problems, and that school inspections and guidance activities were insufficient. Teachers stated that the current conditions regarding school inspections were ignored, that inspectors were not focused on solutions during guidance and supervision, but focused on problems and negative attitudes and behaviors. Based on the findings and results of the study, it is recommended to prepare a program that can respond to the interests and needs of children who study in the multigrade classes rather than the education program applied to individual classrooms.
