Effect of biogas facility from organic fertilizer on model plant wheat development and nutritional elements uptake

This MSc Thesis aimed to test the effectiveness of organomineral fertilizers, which have been becoming widespread recently. For this purpose, a pot experiment in greenhouse conditions was conducted to test the effect of biogas plant originated organic fertilizer (OF) applied together with nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P), and potassium (K) or separately on the growth and the nutrient uptake of model plant wheat (Triticum aestivum L.). Two different fertilizer application techniques (incorporating to root depth and 5 or 5-10 cm below soil surface) were imitated, and the effectiveness of biogas plant based OF was determined. According to the results obtained, the OF applied together with plant nutrients (mixing in the whole pot and especially to the 5 cm below the surface) had a positive effect on plant growth. The effect of the application in the form of mixing 5-10 cm below the surface was at the lowest level. According to the correlation analysis, very closed positive relationships were found between the OF application to 5 cm below the surface and the shoot dry weight and P uptake. The results of the correlation analysis showed that the weakest relationships were observed in the applications in the form of mixing 5-10 cm below the surface. Opposite to the conditions where the OF and plant nutrients applied together, the relations between OF and the shoot growth and P uptake were disappeared in the treatments in which N, P, and K are mixed in the whole pot and OF is applied 5-10 cm below the surface or applied to the band 5 cm below the surface. The results showed that the OF applied in combination with plant nutrients can increase the nutrient use efficiency of plants by improving the uptake of nutrients, especially P. However, there is a certain need to test these results under field conditions and analyze their accuracy in practice.
