Abstract (EN)

In this thesis study, firstly thiophene-2-carbaldehyde thiosemicarbazone (Httsc), thiophene-2-carbaldehyde-N-methyl thiosemicarbazone (Htmtsc), thiophene-2-carbaldehyde-N-ethyl thiosemicarbazone (Htetsc), 2-acetylthiophene thiosemicarbazone (Hattsc), 2-acetylthiophene-N-methyl thiosemicarbazone (Hatmtsc) and 2-acetylthiophene thiosemicarbazone (Hatetsc) were synthesized. The 18 new antimony(III) halides (chlorine, bromine, iodine) with these thiosemicarbazone derived complexes have obtained in 1:1, 2:1 and 3:2 molar ratio at suitable solvent and conditions. The chemical structures of newly synthesized antimony(III) thiosemicarbazone complexes were determined by melting point, elemental analysis, molar conductance, FT-IR spectroscopy, FT-Raman spectroscopy, 1H and 13C-NMR spectroscopy, ultraviolet spectroscopy, single crsytal X-ray diffraction and thermogravimetric differential thermal analysis (TG-DTA). The complexes 1, 4, 10, 13 and 16 are dimeric, the other complexes are monomeric. In complex 1, 4, 10 and 13 two halide bridges and in complex 16 two halide and one sulfur bridges binding monomeric units to form dimers. The complexes 1, 4, 10, 13 and 16 are octahedral, 2, 3, 5, 7, 8, 9, 14, 15, 17 and 18 are square pyramidal, 6, 11 and 12 are pseudo trigonal bipyramidal geometry. Intermolecular interactions in complexes whose crystal structure was illuminated were determined by the Hirshfeld surface analysis method. The cytotoxic and antibacterial effects of the obtained thiosemicarbazone derivative ligands and antimony(III) halide complexes were tested against cancer cells and gram negative and gram positive.
