A review of possible application areas of blockchain technolohy in the banking industry

Blockchain technology is decentralized, reliable and consists of data records consisting of many data panels. Blockchain Technology includes a universal technology that can be used in different sectors that are not just a cryptocurrency exchange. This technology, which can be used in different sectors, affects the fields of finance and economy as well as being used in business, industry, health and education institutions. Its place in banking, which is the most primary sector in finance, will be indispensable. In this context, within the scope of this research, using the semi-structured interview technique conducted with the participants, in-depth interviews were conducted with 8 open-ended questions and a total of 11 people who are interested in finance, banking sector, economy and cryptocurrencies. Since this technology is new and not known by everyone, the knowledge of 11 people participating in the interview and their interest in the banking sector were sought. The main purpose of the meeting was to examine the place and importance of blockchain technology in the use of banking. According to the answers of the participants, the results obtained show that many studies on blockchain have been done in banks and some countries have taken decisions regarding its implementation. But in order for the Blockchain Technology to be used in banks under today's conditions, this technology must be officially accepted by the banks. Countries and states accept this technology and some legal and legal regulations are required, and based on this, people's trust in this technology will increase and it can spread quickly and become available in banks.
