Abstract (EN)

The Problem of Evil is one of the problems waiting to be resolved in the history of thought. The fact that God, who is capable of everything, knows everything and qualified as the best, creates a world full of evil and is still regarded as good and gained the criticism of anti-theist thoughts. Various responses have been produced by theist thinkers who came to this criticism, which was made systematic for the first time in the history of philosophy by Epicure (341-270 BC). Boethius (480-525 A.D.), which is the subject of our study, is one of these theists. In this work, although he deals with many issues, he also touched on the Evil Problem, as he was unfairly thrown into the dungeon. According to him, the wicked are not strong, contrary to what is believed, but weak people who have become slaves to their passions.
