Abstract (EN)

This study was carried out in Bolu ecological conditions during growing season of 2015. One tobacco variety (Akhisar 97), and total 29 local populations were used as plant materials which were obtained from Aegean Agricultural Research Institute (AARI) and different regions of Turkey in the study. The objective of the study was to investigate yield and quality characteristics of tabacco variety and populations in Bolu conditions. These characteristics varied between 80,82-142,00 cm for plant height, 13,67-31,20 for leaves number/plant, 7,71-12,58 cm leaf width, 12,78-21,44 cm leaf lenght, 158,75-646,30 kg/da fresh leaf yield, 49,52-119,74 kg/da dry leaf yield, 0,10-0,87% nicotine ration, 9,70-21,30% sugar ration, 24,33-47,00% fat oil ration, 8,10-44,6 mg/g, 2,61-7,40 mg/g, 0,61-6,55 mg/g, 0,27-37,4 mg/g, 9,34-32,3 mg/g, 4,29-9,44 mg/g content of K+, SO4-2, Mg+, Ca+2, CI-, PO4-3 in tobacco cultivar and populations, respectively. As a result of the analysis of variance; it was found out that there were significant differences in terms of investigated characteristics among tobacco cultivar and populations. According to the results obtained from the research; the populations of Bursa (Ege,42884), Hatay (Aegean, 42132) and Akhisar 97 cultivar can be said the most suitable tobacco population in terms of leaf yield, nicotine and sugar ration for the ecological conditions of Bolu.
