Özet (EN)

In this study, 1.2990 and Bohler K340 quality cold work tool steels produced by powder metallurgy method were borided using the box boriding method. Box Boriding process was applied using Ekobar-II powder at a temperature of 950 °C for 2,4 and 6 hours. Then, it was subject to oxidation at 750°C for 3 and 5 minutes, and 800°C for 3 and 5 minutes. After the application, there are optical microscopy, scanning electron microscopy, X-ray analysis, microhardness testing, and wear testing. Optical microscope and scanning electron microscope were used to examine the structural properties of the result boride layers. Microhardness test is a method used to determine the hardness values of boride layers. Wear test were carried out evaluate the wear resistance of the obtained boride layers. Using a ball disc wear device, wear test were carried out against WC-Co ball with a certain sliding speed of 0.3 m/s, 5N load and sliding distance of 300 meters. Thanks to these test, the wear behavior and wear resistance of the layer were determined. The microhardness of KB and oxidation samples in 1.2990 steel is between 1312-1669 HV0,2, and the wear rates are between 4,92 and 89,58mm3/Nm. In K340 steel, was wound to be 1160-1653 HV0,2, and the wear rates were found to be 0.628 and 71.78x10-6/Nm.
