Abstract (EN)

The study was carried out to remove the color parameter, a problem in industrial wastewater, economically using natural organic matter. Maxilon golden yellow 4GL dyestuff was used to represent the color-forming parameter in industrial wastewater, and the fruits of the firethorn (Pyracantha coccinea L.) plant, which grows spontaneously in nature, were used to provide color removal by sorption. The fruit was used pure and modified with dimethylglyoxime (DMG). The plant was subjected to various conditions for batch biosorption and made suitable for analyses. The optimal pH for pure biosorbent was determined as 8, and analyses were carried out for color removal at different temperatures (5°C, 15°C, 30°C, 45°C) with different amounts of biosorbent (0.1, 0.2, 0.4, 0.6, 0.8 and 1 g). Scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Fourier transform infrared spectrophotometry (FTIR), and zeta potential analyses of dye solutions containing pure and modified adsorbents were performed to determine the morphological structure of the adsorbent in pure and modified form. Based on these analyses, the optimal amount of biosorbent and optimal temperature values were determined. The optimal amount for both biosorbents was determined as 0.1 g. The highest color removal was obtained at 45°C (77.22%) for pure biosorbent and at 30°C (74.14%) for modified biosorbent. According to Langmuir isotherms, it is possible to say that RL values of pure and modified adsorbent are by Langmuir isotherm for all temperatures (0Keyword: Adsorpsiyon = Adsorption ; Renk giderme = Decolorization ; Zeta potansiyeli = Zeta potential
