Diabetes is a chronic broad-spectrum metabolism disorder that requires constant medical care, due to insulin deficiency or defects in the effect of insulin, the organism cannot benefit from carbohydrates (KH), fats and proteins. Impaired fasting glucose; venous plasma fasting glucose is evaluated as 100-125 mg / dl (5,6 mmol-6,9 mmol/l). Impaired glucose tolerance; While fasting glucose level is <126 mg / dl (<7,0 mmol/l), it is evaluated as the plasma glucose range between 140-199 mg/dl (7,8-11,0 mmol/l) at the second hour after OGTT. Metabolic syndrome is a fatal endocrinopathy in which systemic disorders such as abdominal obesity, glucose intolerance or diabetes mellitus, dyslipidemia, hypertension, and coronary artery disease (CAD) are added to each other, starting with insulin resistance. In this study, we aimed to show betatrophin, Interleukin-6, Tumor Necrosis Factor-alpha levels and possible roles in the disease in individuals with diabetes mellitus, impaired fasting glucose, impaired glucose tolerance and metabolic syndrome. In the study, 20 type 2 Diabetes Mellitus, 20 impaired fasting glucose, 20 impaired glucose intolerance, 20 metabolic syndromes and 20 healthy, who applied to the Department of Internal Medicine, Fırat University Faculty of Medicine, Endocrinology and Metabolic Diseases and General Internal Medicine Department. The control group consisting of individuals was evaluated. Blood samples were taken from the patients. The levels of betatrophin, fasting blood glucose, postprandial blood glucose, Hemoglobin A1c, High Density Lipoprotein, Low Density Lipoprotein, triglyceride, urea, creatine, aspartate aminotransferase and alanine aminotransferase were compared among the groups. Accompanying the present findings, a significant elevation was found in type 2 DM, Impaired Fasting Glucose and Impaired Glucose Tolerance group in terms of betatrophine compared to the control group (p = 0.017). Compared to the control group, a significant elevation was found in terms of TNF-a in BGT and Metabolic Syndrome group (p<0.001). Again, compared to the control group, a significant elevation was found in the MetS group for IL-6 (p = 0.007). As a result; Betatrophin, IL-6, TNF-alpha was shown to contribute to the formation of type 2 DM by increasing insulin resistance, and therefore it was thought that they may play a role in the treatment of BAG, BGT and type 2 diabetes, and obesity and MetS in the future.
