Özet (EN)

This study aims to analyze the use of unergative and unaccusative verbs within and between the groups of Broca?s and conduction aphasic individuals.The study group consists of 5 Brocas aphasic and 5 conduction aphasic individuals. Individuals with aphasia include patients taking therapy at Neurology department of Çapa Medical Faculty. In order to diagnose aphasic language characteristics due to left hemisphere damage, Aphasia Assessment Tool in Turkish (ADD)? has been used.In this mixed method study, 10 unergative and 10 unaccusative illustrated verbs were used as an assessment tool. The data collected in this study were analyzed by using the SPSS 15.0 package program and Sigmastat 3.5. In the analysis of the data collected in this study, Shapiro Wilk?s test, independent samples t-test and paired samples t-tests were used. In the analysis of cross tables Fisher exact chi-square test was used.The results showed that while the individuals with Broca?s aphasia scored higher in unergative verbs, the individuals with conduction type aphasia scored higher in unaccusative verbs but the difference was not significant.
