Abstract (EN)

In the vicinity of the Kaynaklar village, Late Cretaceous-Paleocene aged Bornova Melange rocks are found. In the study, within the Bornova Melange Cretaceous aged Kuzkaya unit, Late Triassic-Middle Jurassic aged Kaletepe unit, Late Cretaceous-Paleocene aged Kaynaklar unit and within the last Sazak subunit have been distinguished. The Kaletepe unit has block contact caharacteristics in the Kaynaklar unit. Kaletepe unit consists of dark grey colored, well lithified, thick bedded, recristalized biomicritic or intrabiosparitic limestones. The unit has been precipitated an environment including inertidal, subtidal, resrichted circulation shelf lagoon, open circulation shelf lagoon and forslope from shallow water to deep water. Kaletepe unit, includes a Norian-Rhaetian (Late Triassic) aged foraminiferal assamblages consisting of Aulotortus sp., Aulotortus cf. friedli, Aulotortus cf. tumidus, Aulotortus cf. communis, Aulotortus friedli, Aulotortus gr. sinuosus, Auloconus sp., Reophax sp., Galaenella ? sp., Endotebanella sp. in the lower most part, a Liassic (Early Jurassic) aged foraminiferal assamblages including Duotaxis cf. metula, Siphovalvulina sp, Lithuoseptha sp., Paleomayncina termieri, Meandrovoluta asiagoensis, Endotriada sp., Endotriadella sp. in the middle part and a Dogger (Middle Jurassic) aged foraminiferal assamblages consisting of Nautiloculina oolithica, Trocholina sp., Glomospirella sp., Gutnicella ? cayeuxi ?, Riyadhella ? sp., Redmondoides ? sp., Textulariopsis ? sp., Gaudryinopsis ? sp. in the upper part. The unit, as well as foraminiferas contains Thaumotoporella pervovesiculifera, dasyclad algae, Orthonella sp., green algae, gastropod, bivalvia, ostrakod, brachiapod and echinid fossils.
