Abstract (EN)

In today's business world, supply chain performance determines a company's competitiveness. Manufacturing companies, dealing with significant energy requirements, must select sustainable suppliers to maintain a seamless supply chain management system. However, energy supply complexities, often influenced by world politics, add challenges to this process.Sustainable supplier selection involves three main criteria: fiscal, environmental, and social sustainability. Yet, the process contains linguistic terms and human judgment, leading to potential errors and suboptimal choices. This study employs the SF-TOPSIS Method, involving ten supply chain professionals from a company to evaluate supplier sustainability. By reducing human errors, the study demonstrates the method's effectiveness in selecting the most suitable sustainable supplier. SF-TOPSIS identified Supplier 2 as the most sustainable option, followed closely by Supplier 3, while Supplier 1 ranked as the least sustainable. The study's results differ from the decision-makers' previous real-life selection, suggesting negotiations with Supplier 2 for purchasing Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) for three factories in Southern Turkey. By prioritizing sustainability and employing robust methods like SF-TOPSIS, manufacturing companies can establish stronger supply chain management systems, ensuring long-term success in the competitive business landscape.
